Maintenance Technician-3rd Shift
General Summary
Reporting to the Lead Maintenance Technician and Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Technician is primarily responsible for responding and resolving service calls, providing mechanical and technical support, and troubleshooting automated material handling system components within a 700,000 sq. ft. distribution center. The Maintenance Technician should be able to successfully perform on-site installation, servicing, and repair processes of complex equipment and systems without direct supervision, by following detailed work instructions and reporting any outdated or incorrect repair measures. All duties are to be performed in accordance with proper safe work practices. Additional responsibilities related to the technical delivery of small service jobs, time and work material, and preventive maintenance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Performance of mechanical and lubrication tasks on automated material handling equipment, including belt install, bolt and tension roll adjustment, straightening parts, aligning rollers, and replacing defective parts.
• Performs preventive/predictive maintenance and repairs on equipment (e.g., pneumatic systems, material handling equipment, hydraulic equipment, dock equipment, electronic and electrical equipment, etc.) according to safety and quality procedures.
• Assist in formulating preventative maintenance standards/work procedures while performing those duties and provide work order feedback on discrepancies noted in service delivery.
• Utilizes working knowledge and experience to troubleshoot and repair material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, automated conveyor systems, and key components of the distribution center, to include but not limited to automated putwall (pick-to-light systems), HighJump (WMS), PandA (Print and Apply) components, and Intelligrated conveyor systems.
• Follows up by providing feedback and timely documentation with Facilities Manager, Supervisor/Lead, and other Operations Managers to ensure issues have been resolved.
• Participates in cleaning the conveyor systems and maintenance area as appropriate.
• Provides daily support to the operations, especially by performing daily inspections as required by site guidelines.
• Performs general facility maintenance such as light bulb replacement, office furniture relocation, light plumbing, light electrical repairs, etc.
• Other duties as instructed by leadership which the associate is trained and skilled to perform
• Utilize various tools and instruments to perform repairs and preventative maintenance on conveying systems according to established standards.
• Performs preventive/predictive maintenance and repairs on equipment

Required Skills:
• Operate material handling equipment (e.g. forklift), boom and scissor lifts, battery equipment, moving machinery, and other powered equipment.
• Must have a good working knowledge to include, but not limited to, the troubleshooting and repair of material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, maintaining automated conveyor systems, motors, lubrication, and preventive/predictive maintenance.
• Must have working knowledge of the following topics: using hand/power tools, precision alignment, rigging, welding, blueprint reading, preventive/predictive/corrective maintenance.
• Understanding of CMMS systems for work order and inspection completion and documentation
• Ability to read, recognize, write, and follow applicable numbers and directives (verbal and written) in English, including safety rules, operating instructions, racking locations, and procedural documents
• Command of basic math skills to ensure inventory (count, add, subtract, identify, etc. numbers 0-1,000) and measurement conversion accuracy (mm to in)
• Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to support workload and operations requirements, including holidays and weekends as dictated by the operations
• Frequent bending, lifting, walking, pushing/pulling, crawling, twisting, reaching, kneeling, stooping, and standing for long periods of time and sometimes working in extreme temperatures
• Excellent hand and eye coordination skills
• Ability to perform duties independently, and as part of a team, with minimal supervision or guidance
• Willingness to learn and be mentored, accept constructive coaching/feedback
• Successfully perform processes associated with the core duties and responsibilities of the position
Experience:
• 2+ years of applicable hands-on experience performing maintenance on industrial manufacturing process/production equipment OR a combination of experience maintaining automation and conveyor equipment and education, certification, training, etc. equivalent to 2+ years
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Command of safety procedures (including lock-out/tag-out)
• Demonstrated commitment to quality
• Previous operation of powered equipment, specifically Crown MHE, and industrial vehicles strongly preferred
The estimated pay range for this position is $25.00-$31.00. The successful candidate’s actual pay rate offer will take into account a wide range of job-related factors including skill sets, years and nature of relevant experience, training, pay rates of associates in similar positions, the candidate’s location, and other organizational needs. The estimated pay range has been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential.
