IT Systems Manager- Distribution
General Summary:
The IT Systems Manager is responsible for supporting the New Jersey Distribution Center (NJDC) logistics operations by maximizing productivity, troubleshooting issues, and improving overall operating capabilities. The Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the supply chain and distribution systems, including WMS, BI reporting tools, scanning equipment, and general network infrastructure, requiring an in-depth understanding of applicable supply chain systems and business functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the support structure of NJDC Operations group for all systems located or used at the NJDC, including but are not limited to HighJump, LMS, SiSense, MTS, WCS, RF, Printers, PC’s, Conveyor Scanners and Scales
- Troubleshoot network connection issues with various peripheral equipment (computers, cameras, printers, etc.), working with the networking team when needed
- Ability to utilize collected data and create operational reports for productivity tracking and/or merge WMS data with labor management system collected data to create reports
- Able to diagnose HighJump system and/or software issues and relay problems to IT resources for resolution
- Maintain log of all issues & projects on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to ensure issues are resolved and projects are completed in a timely manner.
- Train and manage training on software, hardware, and operational support standards to ensure the highest level of technical support.
- Assist maintenance and operations in troubleshooting equipment issues (carton tracking in WCS, photo eye alignment and adjustments, in-line scanners, in-line scales, Print and Apply)
- Participate in IT projects including test script writing, schedule development, data preparation, test execution and issue resolution
- Work with Operations, IT, and Engineering on process changes and identify how the system configurations can be adjusted to accommodate changes as well as when process changes require HJ software modifications by software vendor
- Identify opportunities to improve or streamline existing processes, and collaborate cross-functionally on changes, improvements, and/or resolutions.
- Conducts duties in compliance with OSHA safety standards and location specific policies, paying special attention to pedestrian/equipment traffic
- Cross-train to perform one or more functions within assigned department and operation to assist within other areas in support of department, facility, and Company success
- Knowledge and use of proper business communication etiquette, and effective verbal and written communication skills pertaining to both technical and non-technical platforms.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Expert level with all Microsoft Tools (Excel, Word, Project, Access)
- 5+ years experience with all areas listed above (WMS, automation, conveyor, and/or unit sortation)
- 3+ years experience in HighJump system functionality
Experience/ Education:
- B.S. degree in Information Systems, or Industrial Engineering or Logistics or equivalent work experience
