DC CLERK II
General Summary
The DC Clerk II performs manual and clerical duties associated with the flow of product to be received and/or shipped. They are primarily responsible for electronically communicating timely and accurate information regarding the product entering or leaving the facility with internal and external business partners.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Communicate with corporate entities on all receiving/shipping priorities, discrepancies, etc. via appropriate phone, email, reporting, etc. methods
- Work closely with various departments internally and at the Home Office pertaining to the daily receiving and/or shipping schedules, based on established warehouse operations and capacities
- Meet or exceed all service and efficiency standards for shipping and/or receiving
- Develop relationships and personal networks with customer base to support continuous improvement initiatives
- Responsible for maintaining and organizing individual workload as assigned to ensure all responsibilities are addressed in an appropriate and timely manner
- Bring escalated disputes to the attention of Leadership, evaluating the situation and recommending resolutions to support partnerships
- Recommend, create and refine processes, tools, and templates that can be utilized across the department
- Continue to become educated on systems to help increase personal knowledge, and enrich the team
- Outbound Shipping Duties:
- Utilize customer websites to route outbound shipments according to each customer’s preferred shipping method
- Adhere to each customer’s shipping requirements as per routing guidelines
- Update, maintain, and monitor reporting
- Unshipped Reports to ensure all start dates are met and cancel dates are avoided
- Generate accurate Daily Shipping Report(s)
- Print, invoice, and produce Bill of Ladings and required documentation for all outbound shipments
- Responsible for the proper handling and safe use of all Company owned property, tools, and equipment, including PPE, power equipment, voice equipment, etc.
- Promotes and maintains a clean and safe work environment
- Conducts duties in compliance with OSHA safety standards and location specific policies, paying special attention to pedestrian/equipment traffic
- Communicates problems/concerns, especially regarding safety, security, building control, or personnel, to the appropriate DC Operations Supervisor and/or Area Manager
- Other duties as instructed by leadership, including various duties performed within DC Material Handler, DC Processor, and/or DC Power Equipment Operator roles, which the associate is trained and skilled to perform
- Crosstrain in order to effectively operate and assist within other departments based on the needs of the department, facility, and Company
Required Skills:
- Expert understanding of system directed processes, with the strong ability to train new and existing associates
- Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
- Advanced PC skills, including Excel, Word, Access and Outlook
- Ability to perform duties independently, and as part of a team, with minimal supervision or guidance
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, propose resolutions, and communicate the outcome to the appropriate operational partners and site leadership
- Excellent analytical and time management skills required.
- Strong multi-tasking, organizational, detail, follow-up, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of proper business communication etiquette, and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from leadership
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to support workload requirements
Experience & Education:
- 2+ years required, 4+ years preferred, in supply chain, warehouse, distribution, or logistics environment
- Previous experience with specific systems actively utilized within the department and facility strongly desired, including a Warehouse Management System(s)
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree in related field, preferred
