The Sr. Demand Planner will support the planning team by managing long-range demand forecasts. The main functions include creating demand plans at the brand/SKU level, performing data analysis, and producing metrics reports that leads to sound and effective decision making. While maintaining the forecast, the Sr. Demand Planner will engage cross functionally to maximize inventory productivity and margin.

Reports to:  Director of Merchandise Planning, Wholesale


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Create and maintain brand/sku level demand plans to be used in production/manufacturing planning; Research and review sales trends and demand drivers, perform sku ranking analysis, and create different forecast models to modify to help improve forecast accuracy.
  • Provides leadership with key analysis and direction of forecasts to maximize decision making ability.
  • Conducts and provides analysis of key performance indicators (KPI) among product lines and accounts.
  • Monitors, identifies and coordinates other internal and external inventory locations to improve supply efficiency and order fill rate.
  • Work cross-functionally and collaboratively with sales, planning and finance to review the business at a Customer/Brand or Channel/brand level
  • Manage established as well as develop new reporting metrics for back order, fill rates, aging stock, and forecast error to internal/external customers
  • Provide ad hoc inputs and analysis to others in supply chain to maximize effective decision making.
  • Consolidate demand for the total wholesale channel and partner with Production to ensure that receipt needs for wholesale channel deliveries are consistently met
  • Run seasonal postmortem analysis to drive buys of purchasing to achieve sales goals
  • Ad Hoc projects as assigned


Required Skills:

• Strong financial acumen and statistical/analytical skills including data retrieval, organization, presentation, and summary skills.

• Prioritizes effectively and adjusts easily to changing demands; demonstrates strong time management skills.

• Excellent communication skills including written and verbal with emphasis on delivery of financial concepts.

• Ability to identify best practices/efficiencies/automations and communicates them to benefit the entire planning group.

• Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint

• Provides point of view, influences others through detailed analysis, factual data, and makes strategic recommendations on actions to take.

• Ability to develop strong partnerships across the business and be a team player

• Wholesale experience preferred, not required

• Ability to travel as needed



• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in wholesale fashion industry, merchandise planning, allocation, financial analysis, or buying



• B.S. degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, Finance, or a related field
