Role Overview:
The Senior Merchant role is being established to support and drive the strategic planning for physical products, specifically assortment strategy. This role will heavily collaborate on revenue strategy, pricing, product margin, and merchandise planning. The Senior Merchant will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop physical products based on an assortment plan, maintain line plans, coordinate communication and process between design, production, and marketing to ensure all teams understand the product vision. This role is responsible for hitting product revenue strategic plans, ensuring development and investment of the right products. This person will have revenue and sell through accountability. This position is Hybrid-New York City.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee merchandising, determine new areas of growth, rank and assort the line, set pricing strategy, and interpret and act on our sales data
• Develop a roadmap and line plan to strategically drive business results, creating core and seasonal business product strategies
• Develop a deep understanding of the customer and seek out and interpret customer feedback as part of strategic planning for future assortments, inventory investments, and revenue plans
• Contribute to Product Margin, ensuring the team hits budgeted plans
• Drive product creation that differentiates Vince Camuto’s from its competition, adhering to the level of detail and quality that has made us successful
• Collaborate with design, marketing, and product development/production on a product strategy that is commercially viable, identify and incorporate relevant trends into the product offering in a brand-appropriate way
• Partner with Marketing to ensure cohesive GTM launch plans will achieve product sales goals
• Partner with marketing teams ensure the assortment and feel of the website is consistent with merchandising direction
• Develop comprehensive pre-season planning strategy and category assortment goals to support the company's financial targets, ensuring collections, exclusives, and number of SKUs are thought through
• Review sales weekly to understand product-market fit and analyze sales KPIs - sell-through, color rank, collections, and product attributes
• Develop and manage robust product hindsight and feedback process, including analyzing performance by category/season at the cc level, returns data, and incorporating customer feedback
• Develop, lead and manage a team of buyers and merchants
Requirements
• Experience building line plans, driving product assortments, and partnering with design to conceive product concepts that grow business
• 6 or more years of apparel merchandising experience with a vertical retailer
• Experience growing businesses by developing merchandise plans with trend-right products for the customer across bags and accessories categories in a digital channel
• A strong propensity for financial knowledge and creative merchandising
• A track record of building, aligning, and inspiring teams and influencing management through sound strategic presentation
• An optimistic and enthusiastic relationship builder and hands-on teammate
• A passion for Vince Camuto and its positioning in the market
• Collaborative teammate with a strong passion for amazing accessories and bags, attention to detail, and project management
• Expert Excel and Google Sheets skills are a must
• The role will be mostly work-from-home but not 100% remote, with approx. monthly in-person meetings with the product team, and ideally will be based in New York City
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
The estimated pay range for this position is $106k to $163k. The successful candidate’s actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of job-related factors including skill sets, years and nature of relevant experience, training, pay rates of associates in similar positions, the candidate’s location, and other organizational needs. The estimated pay range has been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential. This range does not include benefits such as health insurance, paid or unpaid time off work, and retirement.
