Job title: Supervisor of Merchandise Operations

Reports to: Sr Merchandise Operations Manager

General Summary: The Supervisor, Merchandise Operations will lead and develop a team of 5-6 direct reports, overseeing activities related to purchase orders.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support DSW talent initiatives through coaching, feedback, and mentoring
  • Create individualized development plans for associates
  • Proactively identify obstacles within purchase order management, offer solution and implement new process 
  • Collaborate cross functionally to provide insights and support business strategy
  • Support team with resolution of complex issues
  • Oversee PO management, instituting checks and balances to ensure operational excellence within team
  • Reporting related to purchase orders and pricing
  • Ensure adherence to SOX (Sarbanes Oxley)

  • Microsoft Office Skills required (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • MicroStrategy SQL, and Business Objects preferred
  • WPO & Jesta preferred
  • Knowledge of Vendor Catalogs (GXS/SPS) preferred



Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • 3 years’ experience in retail and or related field
  • Previous supervisor experience preferred
