General Summary

DSW is looking for a Senior Specialist, Digital Assets to join the marketing team. Reporting to Director, Marketing Operations, this person will strategically lead our Digital Asset Management (DAM) tool that houses all final assets for dsw.com and all final creative assets (photography, design, marketing/campaign assets, film, etc.) The Senior Specialist will oversee the digital asset tool (Adobe AEM) and ensure its workflows are optimized for current use cases.  

 

Reports to:  Director, Marketing Operations

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the relationship with our DAM vendor (including contract scope in partnership with procurement)
  • Serves as the Marketing organization’s lead for user administration, processes, and defines and monitors roles within the DAM. Is the gatekeeper to all DSW assets.
  • Provide input into creative production and DAM systems operations-related assignments.
  • Establish metrics for measuring assets and tools usage; and report on how assets are being utilized across all channels.
  • Oversees the DSW DAM system integrations, metadata and taxonomy, digital workflow process, security and governance, and documentation in partnership with internal stakeholders and DAM technical lead at vendor.
  • Oversee ingests and related automations, and the lifecycle of all digital assets. Works closely with creative production team and adheres to tight timelines as it pertains to campaign imagery.
  • Continuously improves process by identifying new ways to achieve goals, keeping current with trends, and applying new concepts and solutions accordingly.
  • Performs digital asset lifecycle maintenance activities such as digital archiving and asset expiration.
  • Fulfills asset requests, as necessary, for both internal and external stakeholders. May be required to effect changes to assets to meet specifically requested formats and file requirements.
  • Manages user accounts, provides support and training to help ensure accessibility and ease-of-use for both internal and external stakeholders. Creates and updates end-user training documents.

 

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and talent/rights/legal contracts a plus.
  • Knowledge in Adobe Experience Manager – Assets preferred.
  • Application of sound business principles related to information science, library science or archive management.
  • Demonstrates expertise in digital content workflows and can manage tools for scaled productions
  • Knowledge of archiving, metadata, and taxonomy best practices
  • Ability to maintain and evolve the process for tagging images and cataloging taxonomy
  • In-depth knowledge of file formats and media usage rights terminology.
  • Detail orientated with the ability to handle multiple projects and timelines simultaneously.
  • Leadership level written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solver.
  • Ability to identify best practices, efficiencies, and automations.

 

Minimum Experience:

  • 4+ years of progressive experience in a digital asset management environment including cataloging, taxonomies and metadata structuring required.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Experience Manager as a asset management system is preferred, but related experience in other enterprise tools acceptable.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Retail experience in a fast-paced environment preferred.

 

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Data Management, Library Sciences or a related field required.
