SR SOCIAL MEDIA CREATOR

General Summary
The Sr. Content Creator is a passionate self-starter with a creative eye for social video. This person is
responsible for creating engaging, high-quality, buzz-worthy social content to be used across all 
platforms (Meta, Pinterest, and TikTok) within organic and paid channels. This role focuses on content 
creation, trend ideation and video editing to support organic social initiatives. This person has a pulse 
on trends and the community across all social channels and creates content to support those platform 
native needs for DSW. This person must be comfortable being on camera through on-camera content. 

Reports to: Manager, Social Media & Content

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Create engaging, high-quality, on-brand social video content that could be leveraged across all 
platforms and within both paid and organic channels, including acting as DSW personality as an 
on-camera personality
• Maintain a strong connection with DSW community and social trends through daily community 
management to help drive content that will resonate with fans and be relevant within the 
platforms.
• Work closely with social strategy lead to plan social calendar and determine when new content 
must be created.
• Manage DSW social calendar execution (scheduling and posting) across all channels
• Lead and plan content capture sessions based on channel needs including; style selection, shot 
list, capturing photos or video content on phone, meeting deliverable deadlines, building short 
form video in-app, and communicating available content to broader teams.
• Maintain a foundational knowledge of brand voice and ability to write copy to support publishing
• Understand social analytics to translate data into innovative social concepts to drive stronger 
performance. 
• Supports social video content capture needs at photo shoots and brand events & activations.
• Support seasonal video creative concept planning across paid and organic 
• Maintain a thorough understanding of brand visual guidelines and network best practices to 
support in the selection/ execution of channel appropriate assets
• Work closely with internal and external partners as a way drive innovation across all platforms
• Understand and keep up to date records of social channel best practices and capabilities. 

Required Skills:
• Has a creative eye and can produce on-the-fly content (visual + copy) for live events
• Demonstrates a strong understanding of retail social media; including social analytics
• Understanding of social channels, content capture, editing, etc., including finger on the pulse of 
social trends and events
• Experience working with and level of ease around talent, celebrities, tastemakers and 
influencers
• Knowledge of social channels, their respective audiences and how each platform can be 
leveraged in different scenarios
• Independent thinker; resourceful approach to getting things done
• Ability to create and edit content within various editing tools and social platforms
• Ability to execute tactical and strategic direction with independent judgment
• High level of critical thinking ability and curiosity, particularly in balancing multiple projects and 
priorities.
• Strong written/verbal communication skills; strong attention to detail

• Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Teams
• Social Media Management & Listening Software (e.g. Khoros, BazaarVoice)
• Video editing programs (e.g. Capcut, in-app editing, Adobe After Effects)
• Trends software (e.g. Google Trends and Pinterest Trends data)
• Ideal, but not required: An experienced content creator who has worked with other brands and has a 
moderate social following

Qualifications

Minimum Experience:
• 5+ years of digital/social retail experience
• Social video editing experience within apps (TikTok, Instagram, CapCut, etc) and other 
platforms (Adobe After Effects)
• Knowledge of social media platforms, content format best for each platform, customer 
behaviors within each, and traditional KPIs to drive strong content
• Experience managing multiple campaigns at one time; digitally-focused marketing experience

Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Marketing, Advertising, Business or related field

 

The estimated pay range for this position is $70k to $104k. The successful candidate’s actual pay rate offer will take into account a wide range of job-related factors including skill sets, years and nature of relevant experience, training, pay rates of associates in similar positions, the candidate’s location, and other organizational needs. The estimated pay range has been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential. This range does not include benefits such as health insurance, paid or unpaid time off work, and/or retirement benefits, unless required by law.
