We are currently seeking a Campus Security Supervisor. This position is located at our Columbus, Ohio home office.  

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The selected candidate will lead a growing team of on-site security officers, contract security services and perform a variety of duties under the direct supervision of the Manager of Protective Operations and Intelligence. They will manage the security officers and ensure completion of daily operations to include patrolling the DSW Inc. home office campus (facilities, buildings, structures, etc.), monitor access control, CCTV and alarm system functions on the premises, respond to emergency situations and participate in exercises (drills).

The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, customer service, teamwork and above all trust. In consultation with the Manager, the right candidate will ensure that all Security Officers are proficient in all policies and procedures, as well as the operation of critical security systems.  This position requires the successful completion of a stringent background screening.  Salary is commensurate with experience. This is a full-time position with a regular schedule covering 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift positions. Overtime hours may be required on an ad-hoc basis.

 

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Able to operate in an active and fast paced corporate retail environment
  • Must be able to conduct basic investigations and draft investigative reports
  • Skilled at navigating a technology-based Control Center
  • Conduct patrol tours of the premises to identify and mitigate security risks, safety hazards, maintenance issues, suspicious activity and/or unusual situations
  • Maintain surveillance of the site to ensure the perimeter and buildings remain secure
  • Provide oversight of access controls systems at all facilities ensuring only authorized personnel are permitted on site
  • Able to work in a control center monitoring CCTV, Fire, & Security systems
  • Able to dispatch and/or respond to all incidents, accidents or emergencies in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures
  • Write comprehensive incident and investigative reports for management review
  • Follows up with security officers to ensures all required operational paperwork is completed by all shifts
  • Must display sound judgement during tense situations and be able to follow direction/supervision

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum 3-5 years of site supervisory experience relevant to security in a corporate retail environment
  • Must be proficient in writing coherent and succinct incident and investigative reports
  • Previous military, law enforcement or security experience
  • Standards of fitness including the ability to stand and walk up to 90% of the shift
  • Familiarity with standard Microsoft Office applications
  • Courtesy, tact and effectiveness in dealing with others
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license
  • Successful completion of a background and medical screening
