We are looking for a professional site security supervisor to protect our premises, assets and associates. The successful candidate will maintain a high visibility presence and lead a growing team of proprietary security specialists, and contract security services.  Reporting to the Manager of Corporate Safety and Security, the Campus LP Supervisor will oversee, schedule, and support the various security posts in a 24 hour response environment.  This individual must possess the ability and drive to learn, utilize, and operate all systems within this diverse environment.  Maintain and foster DSW values through teamwork and communication.  Enhance customer service by ensuring that all requests for assistance are addressed while maintaining a secure environment.  Support and maintain a cohesive tream fostering consistent service standards and development.  This position must be avaialable to fill-in and provide direction for all schedule vacancies as well as to assist with special events as requested. This is a full-time position with a regular schedule covering 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift positions. Overtime hours may be required on an ad-hoc basis.



  • The LP Supervisor is a dynamic position that will require the ability to prioritize and multi-task.  This position will cover various functions to include being highly involved in site physical security, access control, CCTV operations, medical response, life/safety audits, as well as internal investigations support.
  • The Supervisor must exhibit excellent written/verbal skills as well as exhibit the ability to handle stressful situations.
  • The Supervisor much be self-motivated and thrive in environments that do not have direct oversight.  The Supervisor must exhibit a solid grasp of Security concepts and possess a strong ability to teach and enforce policy/procedures.  This individual will represent DSW in escalated interactions both internally as well as with external vendors/contacts.
  • This position will deal with confidential information and the individual must possess a high degree of integrity and emotional maturity.
  • This individual must possess an ability to connect with people and ensure a team atmosphere and effective communication is maintained across the shifts/posts.
  • This individual will work directly with in house staff as well as external contracted staff to ensure that service standards are maintained.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Protect associates, property and assets by maintaining a safe and secure envionment
  • Demonstrate professionalism, customer service, teamwork and above all Trust and Integrity
  • Supervise a team of security officers and daily security operations to include patrolling the DSW Inc. home office campus (facilities, buildings, structures, etc.) as well as maintaining staffing for the onsite SOCC (Security Operations Control Center) and Truck Lot operations.Provide oversight and ensure response for access control and visitor management systems at all facilities ensuring only authorized personnel are permitted on site
  • Participate in continuous training and education of associates to include the planning and execution of exercises (drills)
  • Have the ability to operate a company issued vehicle for needed alarm response and patrols
  • Provide after-hours support for stores to include emergency guard scheduling, loss reporting, regional emergency situations, video review, investigations support
  • Act at times as a central call center for DSW Inc. LP related reporting for stores, transportation issues, etc.  Complete and Review all reporting utilizing reporting software and ensuring completeness and proper escalation when needed.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in creating, implementing, and maintaining security policies and procedures at the direction of management
  • Ensure all direct reports are proficient in security policies and procedures, as well as the operation of applicable security systems
  • Identify and mitigate security risks, safety hazards, maintenance issues, suspicious activity and/or unusual situations
  • Ensure all required operational paperwork (incident reports, facility service requests, system maintenance requests, etc.) is completed in a timely manner by all shifts
  • Operate and monitor CCTV systems at All of DSW's properties to include the Corporate Campus and Retail Store locations.  Perform auditing of such systems at the request of management and reporting any discrepancies.  Work at management direction to download recordings for outside agencies such as Law Enforcement for use in legal actions.  Also ensuring that compliance and data protection is maintained at all times.
    • Respond to and evaluate alarms received via various Systems/Companies.  Respond to and support any emergencies that occur on the facility grounds as well as provide remote support for Retail Locations as requested.
    • Provide support as needed for LP Operations team
    • Receive, Evaluate, and Respond to Intrusion System Alarm Company calls in regards to defined DSW properties.  Document and communicate any/all incidents via the appropriate means as defined by management.
    • Operate a multiline telephone system as well as a two-way radio network to ensure that effective communication is maintained across the team.
    • Operate as an emergency liaison during medical, threat, severe weather, and other situations that warrant.  Act as Emergency Responder as well as Dispatch Emergency Services (911, Fire, EMS) actively ensuring that effective communication is maintained throughout the event.  Document all such events via the appropriate reporting software application.
    • Completes a variety of audits, checklists, inspections to include but not limited to (Daily Briefing, Camera Audits, Panic Button Testing, Security Points Testing, Fire Extinguisher Inspections)
    • Responsible for initiating investigations based off inspections/audits/or other means
    • Providing Basic First Aid while maintaining all necessary documentation during times of emergency.  Maintaining First Aid supplies for LP response and First Aid Rooms.
  • Responsible for managing shift schedules, PTO requests, Call-Offs, etc., ensuring all shifts are covered and the campus is secure


Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Must be able to act firmly but with tact and diplomacy when engaging executives, associates, partners, and third party vendors
  • Able to operate in an active and fast paced corporate retail environment
  • Must be able to conduct basic investigations and write comprehensive incident and investigative reports for management review
  • Skilled at navigating a technology-based Control Center
  • Able to work in a control center monitoring CCTV, Fire, & Security systems
  • Able to dispatch and/or respond to all incidents, accidents or emergencies in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures
  • Must display sound judgement during tense situations and be able to follow direction/supervision
    • First Aid/CPR/AED certification preferred
    • Motivated/Self Driven individual - Able to work with minimal supervision and ability to make decisions based on available information
    • Must be flexable to work on any shift necessary as well as possess a team oriented attitude
    • Successful completion of a background check and drug screen test prior to employment


Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to stand and walk up to 90% of the shift
  • Must be able to operate a company vehicle when needed





  • Minimum of 5 years of site supervisory experience relevant to security in a corporate environment
  • Must be proficient in writing coherent and succinct incident and investigative reports
  • Must be able to stand and walk up to 90% of the shift
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Show courtesy and tact when dealing with others
  • Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license



  • High school diploma or equivalent required


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree
  • Previous military, law enforcement or security experience
  • Proven site supervisory experience relevant to security in a corporate retail environment
