Senior Manager, Supply Chain & IT Finance

General Summary:

The Sr Manager, Supply Chain & IT Finance is responsible for leading the Supply Chain and Information Technology financial planning & analysis teams.

The Supply Chain FP&A team is a new function at DBI responsible for partnering with the distribution and fulfillment leaders to ensure appropriate visibility to operational Key Performance Indictors and synchronize operational plans with financial projections.  The team will provide visibility to costs drivers and critical decision support across four U.S. distribution facilities.  This dynamic organization will analyze import costs, as well as inbound, outbound, and direct to customer shipping expense to deliver value by leveraging those expenses across the DBI distribution network over time.  Additionally, the team will support capital expenditure requests to insure appropriate financial rigor is provided to recommended cash outflows.  Key partnerships include Supply Chain, Merchandise Planning, Import & Transportation, and Segment Finance leaders 

The IT FP&A team is responsible for partnering with the Information Technology leaders to synchronize operational plans with financial projections to ensure visibility to cost drivers and critical decision support.  The team analyzes internal and external labor and consulting costs, and long-term technology driven contracts.  Additionally, the team supports analysis of all capital expenditure requests to insure appropriate financial rigor and support is provided to recommended cash outflows.  Key partnerships include Chief Information Officer and IT leadership team as well as Digital User Experience teams.


Reports to: Sr Director, Corporate Finance



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead Supply Chain and IT FP&A teams responsible for collaborating with operational partners to inform critical financial processes.
    • Annual Budgets:  Prepare driver based annual budgets that leverage cross segment information to deliver highly cohesive, well thought out, and well socialized operational plans.
    • Weekly Projections:  Establish a new standard of partnership by helping our operational experts translate their plans into timely updates that are seamlessly integrated with segment merchandise planning and allocation teams.
    • Intermittent Long-Range Plans:  Influence the future of DBI’s supply chain by deliberately planning several years in advance to anticipate capacity constraints and develop on time, operationally feasible, and fiscally responsible solutions.    
  • Spearhead the development of IT, and Supply Chain business cases required to document incremental costs and benefits of proposed projects, while clearly articulating financial drivers, in order to access capital.  Key metrics measured include NPV, ROI, Payback Period.
  • Develop and report on operational KPIs by distribution facility to ensure visibility to key metrics and recommend improvements to reduce cost or time through the supply chain.
  • Responsible to execute change management within the function, across the business, and with external partners focusing on enhancements, process efficiencies and the appropriate alignment of roles and responsibilities across the enterprise
  • Deliver process improvements in order to allow operational partners to more effectively schedule labor to meet needs of the business while leveraging operational expenses.
  • Provided visibility to impact of outsourcing IT labor through use of external consultants vs. utilization of full-time staff.
  • Lead monthly reporting required to ensure close entries have been completed and that all accruals, and capital reclasses are made timely and accurately.
  • Ensure line of sight to expiring IT contracts so that timely re-negotiations can occur, and so monthly projections capture current best thinking.

  • Advanced level skill in Microsoft Excel



•     Minimum of 10+ years’ work experience in a fast-paced environment (retail experience preferred)



•     Undergraduate (B.S./B.A.) degree in Finance or Accounting is required


Preferred Qualifications:

•     MBA is valued but not required

•     Knowledge of finance/GL packages; Lawson, Hyperion or similar is valued but not required
