Senior Manager, Corporate FP&A

General Summary:

The Sr Manager, Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis leads a team of two Senior Financial Analysts, that is the coordination point for all segment level finance activities including Budgeting, Projecting, Long-Range Planning, as well as facilitation of the capital approval process, and investor relations support.  Additionally, the team is responsible for all Inc. level financial analysis and is the direct finance support for the Inc. CFO and CEO.  Key partnerships include Segment level CFO’s, the office of the Corporate Controller, Internal Audit, Tax & Treasury, and Human Resources.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordination of annual Budget includes determining and communicating timelines, and targets by segment, and developing Inc. level reporting which includes management presentations and Board of Directors materials to obtain final Budget approval.  The team is responsible for facilitating process to determine Capital Expenditure budget and is directly responsible for establishing the home office payroll Budget.
  • The weekly projection process provides an opportunity for the Segment CFO’s, in cooperation with their leadership teams to provide updates to the current best thinking around the full year financial outlook.  The Corporate FP&A team coordinates the updates and aggregates the results for Inc. level reporting, which includes:
    • P&L Projections sent to DBI executives, so all parties are updated on current outlook for the year.
    • P&L reviews are done monthly in a process we call “Accountability”.  These materials include by Segment Projections vs. Prior Month outlook, Budget, and Prior Year to insure adequate visibility and dialogue between Inc. and segment level leaders.
    • Monthly Sales Reporting, and numerous ad hoc requests from the Inc. CEO/CFO.
  • Long-Range Planning done several times annually is led by Corporate FP&A and leverages the current projection by segment to provide a 5-year financial outlook for the company.
  • Organization and facilitation of the monthly capital approval meetings is a critical control that enables new projects to be proposed by business owners and opined on by the Inc. CEO and CFO.  Once approved in concept detailed business cases are prepared by the business owner with support of the Corporate FP&A team to document incremental costs and perceived benefits.  Additionally, Corporate FP&A projects fiscal year capital expenditures by tracking and monitoring approved projects.
  • Oversee development of support required for annual SEC reporting (10K/Q filings) and the related earnings call materials requires coordination with Accounting partners and external Investor Relations teams.

  • Advanced level skill in Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of finance/GL packages; Lawson, Hyperion or similar is valued but not required


Required Experience:

•       Minimum of 10+ years’ work experience in a fast-paced environment (retail experience preferred)


Required Education:

•       Undergraduate (B.S./B.A.) degree in Finance or Accounting is required


Preferred Qualifications:

•       MBA is valued but not required
