GENERAL SUMMARY

The Senior Allocation Analyst is responsible for ensuring that the merchandise is allocated to stores at the appropriate levels in the necessary time frame to ensure in stock targets are met and maintained.  Collaborates with cross-functional partners to develop and execute an allocation strategy that supports delivery of the team financial goals and acts as a liaison between allocation and other key business partners.  No direct reports.

REPORTS TO:   Allocation Manager

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze business performance at store/item level to determine allocation to stores, based on capacity and align with the assortment plan.
  • Develop allocation strategies that drive sales and profitability that can be leveraged throughout the business and develop and manage reporting to support the strategy.
  • Responsible for providing monthly in-store inventory projections and recommending receipt shifts to ensure stores are kept in stock and inventory targets are achieved.
  • Provide size recommendations to cross-fucntional team to ensure that sizes are well balanced and in-stock can be maintained.
  • Ability to influence business partners and drive strategy to increase sales and profitability.
  • Identify opportunities to resolve inventory constraints impacting inventory flow to stores and distribution center.
  • Represent Allocation function in cross-functional meetings, act as the liaison between logistics and cross-functional partners.
  • Ability to create ad-hoc reporting and analysis and clearly communicate opportunity and risk at the style/color/size level, or by store and region.
  • Ensures that the key item inventory is balanced and maintained in the intended store count.
  • Participate in weekly cross-functional meetings, Pre-season planning, Hindsight, and Monthly Merchandise Plan Review meetings.
  • Analyze complex allocation parameters that are leveraged to drive sales and profitability, ensure there is a general understanding across the team and support training as necessary.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align and execute on strategies that maximize inventory in stores and execute flawlessly.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Strong analytical skills, proficiency in retail math, and the ability to communicate effectively with peers, cross-functional partners and executive level associates.
  • Strong organizational skills, self-motivated and the ability to solve problems independently.
  • Ability to make judgment decisions.
  • Ability to partner with a team to achieve a common goal.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and adapt to a changing retail environment.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 3+ years experience in retail allocation using JDA Arthur Allocation System
     

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High Proficiency in business analysis tools including Microsoft Excel, JDA Allocation, Business Objects, Power Point, Tableau and have aptitude to learn other technical applications quickly
  • Strong technical aptitude, ability to learn and utilize advance retail solutions including SAS Size Optimization, and JDA Allocation. Ability to understand how these solutions interact with systems and processes used by cross-functional partners

 

EDUCATION

  • BA or BS in business related field
