Job title: Merchandise Support Assistant

General Summary: Performs the administrative and operational functions supporting the buying team.

Reports to: ABG Seasonal Buyer

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

SAMPLE PRODUCT MANAGEMENT Distribute incoming samples to the respective buyer daily, manage .com returns, organize racks of samples, pull samples for meetings, request samples from vendors, manage VPI process

DATA INTEGRITY Process markdowns in Jesta, update outdates based on buyer direction, revise attributes, execute daily price changes and hierarchy changes as needed

PO & INVENTORY MANAGEMENT Ensure on time delivery of PO’s, track marketing styles, report late deliveries, partner with vendor community on outstanding issues, enter styles into MAP, execute balance cancels at direction of buyer, ensure purchase orders are processed by POM Team, process RTVs in a timely manner, investigate issues

REPORTING: Run, refresh, print reports on Mondays, Pull/ build ad hoc reporting as needed in Microstrategy

 

Required Skills:

 

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, organization and follow up skills

 

Qualifications:

 

Experience:

  • Previous retail experience and exposure to the buying process is a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

  • B.S. Degree in Retail Merchandising, Marketing or Business
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills
  • Ability to learn Jesta, MAP, Microstrategy and other merchant computer-based tools
  • Ability to learn retail math and shoe attributes

Education:

  • Minimum HS diploma, college level courses in administration highly desired
