Job title: Manager of Brand Development (Contract-to-Hire)

General Summary: Responsible for standing up a formalized and scalable co-op partnership program for DSW.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing a 12-month roadmap for co-op marketing opportunities between DSW & target growth brands
  • Work with internal key stakeholders, including the internal Brand Partnership lead, to develop value-based marketing co-op campaigns that drive positive business outcomes for participating brands and DSW
  • Partner with marketing operations and others to define integrated operational processes that support co-op initiatives and outcomes
  • Develop and present co-op marketing plans that resonate with partner brands and drive positive business outcomes
  • Work closely with merchant leads in understanding strategic objectives at the brand level and identify co-op partnership opportunities to help support achievement of those goals
  • Participate in internal milestone meetings (pre-season) as input into longer range co-op opportunities & plans
  • Provide a co-op lens perspective into into the development of seasonal customer-facing campaigns and activations; leverage these as opportunities to engage appropriate brands in co-op driven participation opportunities
  • Develop year-one goals, track progress and provide regular report-outs on progress
  • Ensure co-op agreements are executed as planned and that financial commitments are tracked and reported out regularly
  • Ensure that internal key stakeholders execute co-op plans on-time and in step with DSW & brand commitments

 

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Experience in developing co-op funded marketing plans in the retail space
  • Experience in working with senior merchant leaders
  • Strong collaboration and relationship building skills
  • Advanced powerpoint skills; strong ability to ‘tell a story’ in presentation format
  • Ability to present with confidence and rely on a fact-base of knowledge
  • Superlative organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously

 

Experience:

5-7 years retail experience at a department store or “brand of brands” retailer

Strong “generalist” marketer with experience in supporting GMM or DMM / NMM leaders

Digitally-focused marketing experience

Experience in a start-up highly desireable (stand-alone start-up or innovation lab within a larger company)

Ability to think strategically and execute with excellence
