Job title: Manager, Innovation Services

General Summary:  The Manager, Innovation Services is accountable for taking the services assigned to them from test phase into implementation. This position will, therefore, manage locations where these services exist, as well as the rollout plan for future locations. In additon, this position is responsible for optimizing performance and coordinating stakeholders to drive profitable business results. 

Reports to: VP, Innovation & Initiatives

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Defines business objectives for the service lining up to DSW, Inc. strategies, existing market needs and business gaps
  • Gathers ideas to grow and optimize the business using various internal and external resources
  • Serves as primary owner, point of contact, and point of escalation for services
  • Acts as primary liaison with our service partners
  • Partners with the Store Operations, Field, and Marketing teams to deliver business results
  • Authors and communicates status and business performance reports with all levels of the organization
  • Drives day-to-day business success by being knowledgeable in trends, pricing, customer preferences, competition, and appropriate promotional activities
  • Engages key stakeholders across the business to ensure successful rollout of new service locations and execution of supporting activities for current service locations
  • Creates work plans for project implementation and services expansion including identifying and engaging needed resources
  • Ensures effective business operations by serving as the expert through regular store vists and effective proactive communication
  • Advises and monitors store teams’ HR practices including hiring, training, and supervising team members within the business
  • Serves as the sales expert for the full product line and sales behaviors
  • Develops a product knowledge and training module that results in a driven and activated selling organization
  • Some travel required

  • Ability to work in ambiguous, fast paced environment
  • Skilled in multi-tasking and supporting several projects simultaneously
  • Ability to manage diverse teams (internal and external) to solutions on complex issues
  • Ability to utilize metrics/analytics to identify opportunities and measure results

 

Qualifications

Experience:

  • 5+ years of retail management experience
  • Experience managing cross functional large scale projects
  • Experience delegating and holding direct and indirect reports accountable for sales goals
  • Experience with clienteling, sales, and incentive techniques

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PM certification preferred but not required
