HVAC & Energy Specialist (Remote)
The HVAC & Energy Specialist manages repair and maintenance to HVAC and Energy Management systems in US Stores, supports the Manager of HVAC & Energy Initiatives and provides additional support for Store Design & Construction projects and spend related to HVAC and energy efficiency.
We are open to remote-based candidates for this opportunity, however due to the collaborative nature of this role, candidates based out of the Central Ohio area are preferred.
Reports To: Manager, HVAC & Energy Initiatives
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage work orders for HVAC service and review/qualify/approve quotes submitted by Service Providers.
- Manage work orders for HVAC preventive maintenance and review/qualify/approve resulting quotes for repairs (Found On PM quotes).
- Review and approve invoices for HVAC service/repair: contact vendors as needed to investigate invoice problems and negotiate solutions.
- Manage work orders for EMS service and repairs and review/qualify/approve quotes.
- Review and approve invoices for EMS service/repair: contact vendors as needed to resolve issues.
- Update lighting and HVAC operating schedules on the EMS portal and enter changes and over-rides as requested.
- Communicate with field personnel, landlords, contractors and property managers to identify store related repair or replacement needs.
- Read and interpret lease language related to HVAC equipment repair/replacement to support decision making and construct professional communications accordingly.
- Coordinate projects with contractors, construction department, DSW Facilities team, store staff and landlords to ensure repairs are handled efficiently and effectively for store locations.
- Generate reporting to identify historical trends that warrant use of capital funds for expense spend curtailment.
- Review EMS portal for possible outliers for energy usage; research and make recommendations for corrections; escalate as needed for resolution.
- Support store construction team by managing certification/commissioning of newly installed HVAC equipment and ensuring any deficiencies are corrected.
- Participate in regular calls with service providers to review expectations, performance, SLAs and KPIs.
- Identify and pursue other opportunities related to energy/engineering spend.
- Identify savings opportunities related to energy/engineering.
- Support Store Construction and Store Facilities Maintenance teams as needed.
- Provide support for team projects (HVAC and lighting replacements and retrofits, etc.) as needed.
- Provide evening/weekend on-call support as part of a team rotation for emergency HVAC failures/situations.

Qualifications:
Experience:
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems and/or repair. HVAC certification(s) a plus.
- 3 years’ previous experience in a similar or related role.
- Working knowledge of energy management systems and resulting data preferred.
- Working knowledge of lighting types, service and/or repair preferred.
- Ability to review/approve mechanical and electrical design/construction drawings a plus.
- Experience working with energy partners and/or utility providers a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Retail experience preferred.
- Experience working in Service Channel or similar work order management system.
- Experience working in an energy management portal
Education:
- College/technical degree or certifications in HVAC or energy related trades preferred
