Facilities Technician

General Summary: The Maintenance/Facilities Technician is responsible for completing routine responsibilities in the facilities/maintenance areas. This includes, but is not limited to, lighting, misceleaneous repairs, restroom maintenance, furniture moving etc.

Reports to: Manager of Corporate Facilities


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:       


  • Perform Facility maintenance and Facility maintenance support, and miscellaneous duties as
  • assigned
  • Operate a fork-lift, scissor lift, and one person lift
  • Ability to troubleshoot common emergency maintenance issues including but not limited to
    • Plumbing fixture repair
    • Minor electrical.  Lamp and ballast replacement, 120, 277, 480V
    • Door hardware
    • Alarm and exit light battery replacement
  • General handyman and painting services as required
    • Change batteries in flushers, PT dispensers and soap machines etc.
    • Tighten/replace toilet seats
    • Hang pictures and dry-erase boards, cork boards, banners, etc.
    • Pressure Washing
    • Replenish dispensers in restrooms as required
  • Perform preventative maintenance. Learn all facility maintenance tasks
  • Coordinate outside vendor services as needed
  • Load and unload supplies, parts and equipment
  • Complete work orders and other paperwork as required
  • Lift up to 75 pounds as required.
  • Modular office furniture installation/ modification
  • Must have clean driving record.  This position requires operating company owned vehicles
  • Set up chairs/tables for various meetings
  • Misc. cleanup of unexpected spills
  • Too hot, too cold issues
  • Perform other work as assigned


Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in related Distribution Maintenance, in building maintenance/repair.
  • Safe ladder operation
  • Command of safety procedures (including lock-out/tag-out)
  • PC skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office – a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • High School Education or equivalent
