End User Engineering Team - Lead (Open to Remote)

The End User Engineering Team – Lead role requires strong collaboration with team members as well as Application Development Teams, Business Partners, and key stakeholders to design and build robust, scalable, operational solutions to meet business needs.  This person will be responsible for running the day-to-day activities of the End User Engineering Team and helping to set the technical direction/drive technical decisions.  The End User Engineering Lead position demands a well-organized, action-oriented team player with exceptional time management skills to drive multiple initiatives simultaneously and in a very fast paced environment.  Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence cross functional teams, business partners and vendors are required.  This position reports to Sr. Manager, IT Operational Applications.  

 

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Functions as a day-to-day leader of the End User Engineering Team, provides direction to team members as assigned by management
  • Provides status updates and recommendations to management on behalf of the team
  • Responsible for the quality of deliverables in terms of the technical design, implementation, testing, and adherence to technical compliance standards
  • Works on and/or leads large, complex projects within DBI IT (includes Designer Brands Canada and Camuto Group).
  • Provides hands on technical expertise, provides senior level technical guidance to staff, project leaders and other teams as necessary
  • Partners with members providing business acumen when preparing business cases
  • Influences and is engaged in organizational direction of functional area
  • Coach associates around personnel issues, with support of the manager when necessary
  • Supports his/her manager with resource management responsibilities
  • Provides feedback to manager regarding associates’ performance
  • Can help support associates with Individual Development Plans and other development objective

 

Required Skills:

  • Excellent personal communication, group interaction and organizational skills
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Windows Server, Systems Center Current Branch, JAMF, Citrix, AirWatch, Windows 10 patching (including third party patching)
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and diagnostic skills
  • Comprehension PII, PCI and SOX requirements.
  • Good understanding of ITIL/Service Management processes.
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of Windows 10 performance, troubleshooting, and networking technologies (Firewall, NAC, and Wireless Authentication).
  • Broad knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.

Desired Skills:

  • Proven hands-on experience in Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft Endpoint Manager (SCCM, InTune)
  • Experience with VMware vSphere components, Citrix administration and JAMF administration
  • Strong team skills, communication, and drive to ensure constant improvement in service, capabilities, and results.
  • Office 365
  • MAC OSX administration
  • Active Directory Auditing
  • Microsoft BitLocker Administration and Monitoring (MBAM) and LAPS
  • Distributed File System (DFS)
  • Azure services

 

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • 7-10 years combination of Windows administration & End User engineering experience.
  • 2-4 years of team leadership/management experience
  • Experience with the Microsoft System Center suite of products including Configuration Manager; Operations Manager; and Orchestrator.
  • Advanced Group Policy Management (AGPM)
  • Strong scripting experience, leveraging PowerShell where possible

 

Preferred:

  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE).

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical experience.
