<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">General Summary: <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Directs and oversees the management of three key operational accounting departments: Vendor Finance (AP), Inventory Control and Sales Audit with three direct reports. Establishes strategies, processes, procedures, and thought leadership for the accounting department to service the business as a whole. Responsible for executing change management related to IT upgrades and enhancements, business initiatives and integration of acquired operations.

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Advises management in developing processes and standards to support compliance with accounting and reporting requirements of the organization.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Interacts directly with business leaders and executive management to support business initiatives and acquisitions.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Ensures accurate and timely monthly financial close process.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Responsible for the execution of internal controls over financial reporting and remediates identified deficiencies in a timely fashion.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Supports external and internal reviews/audits.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Strategizes and executes changes in response to IT upgrades and enhancements, new business initiatives, acquisitions and new accounting standards.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Supports the SVP Controller for the development and presentation of Audit and Board materials.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Ensure systems and talent infrastructure is optimized to allow for accurate and timely execution, accounting, reporting and auditing of complex and multi-faceted core business processes and systems.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Continually seek to improve and evolve the infrastructure to support a growing and evolving business.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Directly oversee and develop departmental managers while fostering an environment of empowerment and accountability.

 

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Required Skills and Competencies:

  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Working with complex financial systems, processes and controls
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Prior experience managing staff, managing multiple levels of staff preferred
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Experience with the Retail Inventory Method of Accounting is preferred
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Strong understanding of accounting
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Team leading and developing skills
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Strong PC proficiency, including Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Strong Finance, System and general business acumen

 

 

 

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Minimum Qualifications

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Experience:

  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">7-10 years of experience in public accounting or financial analysis in a public company
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Prior management experience

 

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Preferred Qualifications:

  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">MBA
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">CPA

  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Degree in Accounting or Finance
