Digital Optimization Lead (Open to Remote)

The Digital Optimization Lead will own the digital testing process for Designer Brands. From test ideation through analysis and recommendations, this role drives enhancements to our customer’s digital experience, including testing and personalization strategies. The Digital Optimization Lead utilizes quantitative and qualitative data to identify optimization opportunities across digital channels, reduce friction points, and identify areas to enhance the shopping journey. They possess a combination of business and technical skills to effectively communicate test results and recommendations to business stakeholders and deliver technical requirements to the development team. They must also be able to build and grow cross-functional relationships, be extremely detail-oriented, and able to adapt to the dynamic changes in digital.


The ideal candidate will also work on enabling their “customers” (internal product managers and business partners that are striving to build a culture of rapid experimentation) to innovate in ways that better serve our customers. Integration of test capabilities with customer data and audience segmentation tools will provide deeper understanding across multiple touchpoints and will ultimately provide seamless, personalized experiences.


The candidate will have 5+ years of experience in A/B, multivariate, and personalization testing or other analytical / product manager roles. Experience with the Adobe platform and Optimizely tools are a plus, with experience on comparable tools or technologies just as relevant. We are open to remote candidates based in the continental United States for this opportunity.


Reports To: Data Sciences & Analytics Organization


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of digital testing process and roadmap, including calendarization of tests, test prioritization and ongoing learning agenda
  • Analyzing the DSW customer’s shopping journey across all channels (desktop, mobile, app, stores, etc.), utilizing all available data sources
  • Supporting the Optimization team with project analysis, including but not limited to: providing and contextualizing baseline calculations, pre-post analysis, evaluating risks as well as impact of changes.
  • Building, launching, and reporting on experiments within A/B, MVT, and personalization campaigns within Optimizely with the help of product managers and front-end developers and designers
  • Quality control of test experiences and data collection related to testing
  • Analyzing test results and providing the impact, recommendations, and next steps for business stakeholders
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements, and championing effort for improvement where needed

  • 4+ years of experience in an eCommerce, Product Management, or analytics role
  • 1-3+ years of experience in Digital Optimization preferred


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Adobe Analytics
  • Experience with Optimizely, or similar testing platform vendors
  • Experience with ATG or comparable web platform
  • Experience working within Agile Methodology
