The Chief Information Officer (CIO) will develop and drive the vision, culture and strategy for global Transformation & Technology at DSW Inc.  With outstanding business & technical leadership, the successful candidate will lead and inspire the Transformation & Technology team to deliver technology that adapts to the needs of an evolving global consumer and business.  The CIO reports to the Chief Executive Officer, DSW Inc. and is a member of the DSW Inc. Executive Committee.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Leads the development of innovative, transformative solutions
  • Drives a culture of associate development and creates a bench of talent within the Transformation & Technology organization
  • Leads the following Transformation & Technology functional areas:
    • Transformation, Enterprise Architecture, Security & Compliance, Quality Assurance, Infrastructure & Operations, and Supply Chain, Stores, Corporate & eCommerce Systems
  • Serves as a key member of the Executive Committee and helps the organization develop strategy, obtain resources and deliver on strategic objectives.
  • Provides regular updates to the Board of Directors, specifically providing updates to the Technology Committee and Technology chair member.
  • Creates overall strategies for Enterprise-wide system architecture and design to ensure systems integrate well and can be shared easily among authorized users
  • Directs information management budgeting, strategic and tactical planning, business process re-engineering and strategy.  Manages annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Demonstrates solid project management, operational skills and technical knowledge.  Understands and stays current on relevant advancements and industry trends in the area of IT 
  • Explores new technologies for future planning and potential implementation
  • Identifies opportunies for improvement, plans best solutions and leads the team to achieve desired results.
  • Leads the development and implementation strategy for new hardware and software platforms
  • Provides leadership in the upgrade or development of key corporate systems.  Ensures overall integration and internal customer satisfaction among users
  • Maintains overall responsibility for ensuring that all organizational policy and procedures are compliant with organizational and statutory requirements

 

Experience:

  • 15+ years progressive IT leadership experience.  At least 10 years leading IT organizations at VP level or above.  Successful career progession in complex organizations
  • The preferred candidate will have Digital/eCommerce experience in a customer service centric environment.  Retail and other industy experience a plus
  • Innovative leader who aligns IT function to support business needs
  • Demonstrated track record of success in driving business value through IT enablement
  • Proficient in contract negotiations, vendor service management, and capacity planning
  • Broad current knowledge of packaged and custom applications, current trends in IT, and experience with evaluating/implementing/integrating internal and external solutions

Education:

  • B.S. Degree in Computer Science or related field is required.  MBA a plus.
