Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for an Art Director, Social & Digital Media to concept and create ongoing original social content across various social media platforms and social media campaigns. Your responsibilities will include leading the development of the DSW brand social voice and personality, development of compelling social creative concepts, and high-quality visual content, within brand and on strategy. You will collaborate with the creative team to ensure quality, visual consistency, and timeliness of material. You will analyze client needs and cater content to relevant target audiences. This role has a focus on Social Media Channels including but not limited to: Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, TikTok and other Digital Media advertising opportunities.

What You Will Work On
You and your team play a role and are responsible for bringing DSW brand experiences to life in channels where customer acquisition and engagement is high.

 

The ideal candidate should possess a strong track record of creative excellence, fresh and progressive thinking, and collaboration. This individual will lead the brand creative expression for DSW’s social and digital channels. This role is responsible for translating design concepts and marketing needs into inspiring and effectives stories and campaigns—ensuring consistent brand expression in organic, paid, social media and digital channels.

 

You’ll lead and direct multiple cross-functional relationships, mentor designers, and drive multiple projects with a clear design voice and an unbending creative rigor. You’ll present creative work to cross-functional partners, leaders, graphic designers. You are responsible for the leadership and development of junior designers. You will manage the concept, development, and execution of work as well as the creative resources needed to ensure tasks and deadlines are met.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Possess a strong, intuitive understanding of what drives interest and engagement in digital channels, are tapped into social and cultural trends, and have the strategic acumen to turn those instincts into a strong, compelling brand voice.
  • Demonstrate expert-level knowledge of Social Media Channels. Ability to drive and innovate in the space. Expert knowledge of best practices, marketing trends, new and innovative processes and/or partners/vendors that will elevate creative output.
  • Drive innovative solutions for digital storytelling across all social and digital channels
  • Owns cross functional relationships with Brand Strategy, Organic and Paid Media strategy, Traffic & Operations, Brand Creative, Creative Directors, Other Art Directors to concept and execute marketing campaigns
  • Serve as a strong team leader and collaborator—ensuring the team is working towards the same brand vision for DSW, setting high standards of creative excellence and fostering a highly creative and collaborative team culture
  • Help evaluate talent and develop staffing plans to support business demands. Act as a coach and mentor to associates, providing them with development opportunities.
  • Utilizes outstanding design skills and demonstrates innovation in creating original solutions
  • Communicates and presents design concepts; builds presentation materials that successfully communicate design concepts
  • An innovative and curious forward-thinker that can/will explore and execute new, innovative ideas and align with test & learn strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and grow a team
  • Demonstrated experience with goal setting and delegating responsibilities
  • A collaborative and passionate champion of the brand, the customer, and the DSW business. Can understand and integrate creative decisions to overall business strategies and KPIs.

 

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or related field
  • Five or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of professional level experience as graphic designer or art director.
  • Experience creating and producing content/campaigns for social media.
  • A Portfolio.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in using Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Excellent sense of pace and timing, knowledge of the best ways to engage viewers, and a sense of how to tell a powerful story in a short amount of time.
  • Knowledge of design applications in traditional and emerging channels.
  • Ability to explore new interpretations of the brand and develop out-of-the-box approaches to grow the visual identity of the brand.
  • Ability to take direction well from creative directors.
  • Knowledge that requires attention to all the project details, that work is on-time, on-budget, and on-strategy.
  • Ability to direct photo and video shoots, including prop selection and art direction on set.
