Job title: Allocation Analyst

General Summary: The Inventory Analyst insures consistent application of allocation systems and process through training and mentoring Merchandisers.  As the owner of size profiling the Inventory Analyst develops and publishes size profiles to support the buying and allocation process.   The Inventory Analyst may retain direct responsibility for the allocation and replenishment of a particular category.  

Reports to:  Manager of Allocation

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain and deliver training on Allocation tools, processes and best practices insuring consistent application across the team. Onboard new associates, provide training to internal candidates for future Merchandiser openings and deliver the quarterly LRC Allocation Overview. 
  • Be a champion of change and continuous improvement, partnering with the managers and system administration team to enhance existing processes and allocation system functionality. As the thought leader regarding Allocation execution on the team, identify issues and recommend changes to Allocation Variables and Methods.
  • Responsible for creation of Size Profiles used in both the buying and allocation processes using the SAS Size Optimization System.  Ensures that accurate profiles are created and published for all relevant hierarchy levels, size ranges and timeframes.
  • Collaborate with Item Planners, Merchandisers and Buyers to maintain consistent Instock and sell-thru performance across the size range by providing timely, actionable analysis and insights.
  • Produces weekly reporting, develops relevant insights and communicates them to manager and cross-functional partners:  Weekly Store Report, Carton Projection, Weekly Touch Base Report, and Monthly Size Update. Analyzes Instock reporting and provides actionable insights.
  • Act as primary ASN contact working with DC and Allocation team to resolve issues, delete distributions and communicate issues with management.
  • Participate in Supply Chain initiatives as assigned as the Allocation subject matter expert

 

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong analytical skills, proficiency in retail math, ability to think objectively and interpret themes from quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Strong technical aptitude, ability to learn and utilize advance retail solutions including SAS Size Optimization, SAS Pack Optimization and JDA Arthur Allocation. Ability to understand how these solutions interact with systems and processes used by cross-functional partners.
  • High Proficiency in business analysis tools including Microsoft Excel, Arthur Allocation, Business Objects, PA/PA Web and have aptitude to learn other technical applications quickly
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail; ability to work independently and prioritize activities based on business needs
  • Able to effectively communicate with peers, cross-functional team and executives; capable of presenting ideas and recommendations that lead others to action

 

Minimum Qualifications

Experience:

  • Minimum 4 years work experience in retail inventory management

Education:

  • BA or BS in a business related field preferred
