Sr. Network Security Engineer (Remote)
Designer Brands is looking for an experienced Senior Network Security Engineer to manage our on-premise and cloud based infrastructure. The candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and operations of DBI’s network security infrastructure. They will collaborate with architects and peers to design, configure, and implement solutions. Additionally, they will help maintain network data and security infrastructure and services across multiple brands. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network security, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Reports To: Manager, Network Engineering
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive network security architecture, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), VPNs, and other security devices.
- Monitor and analyze network traffic to identify and mitigate security threats.
- Develop and enforce security policies and procedures to ensure the integrity of DBI’s network data and compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Design and document scalable solutions that meet enterprise requirements, collaborating with IT and other departments to ensure seamless integration, especially with security measures.
- Troubleshoot network related issues to support application teams, Respond to security alerts and incidents promptly and effectively.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, threats, and technology solutions.
Required Skills:
- Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, HTTPS, BGP, etc.)
- Very strong technical knowledge of enterprise network security solutions for large environments (SASE, SSE, SWG, IDS\IPS)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong team player who enjoys a fast-paced atmosphere and has used agile methodologies
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, commitments, and projects
- Proficiency in scripting and automation tools.

Qualifications:
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network security engineering.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems and security technologies
- Experience with packet capture hardware/software (Ethereal, Sniffer) to support fault isolation
- Experience with Data Center centric, Cloud services, and Software Defined Networking required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive experience with F5 and Palo Alto Networks technologies
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCNP Security, PCNSE)
Education:
- B.S. Degree Computer Science or a minimum of 5 years network security experience in lieu of degree
