General Summary: The Director of Digital Experience & Site Merchandising is responsible for leading a team of digital marketers and merchandisers to develop and execute site content strategies, storytelling initiatives, search strategies, web production schedules, and digital promotions. This position will be responsible for developing the strategy and roadmap to evolve the website experience using customer insights and analytics. The position is responsible for the direction, prioritization, and launch of new technical projects and website vendors.


This individual leads digital content and merchandising strategies that support the aggressive growth goals of the business and drive conversion. Determine site changes by evaluating customer demand, sales trends, competitive learnings, and site behavior then take these learnings to refine on-site strategies for future success. This role is both analytical and creative, as it requires the Director to deeply understand the capabilities of the website, analytics suite, and creative teams to help build, measure and optimize effective digital campaigns. The Director will work closely with cross-functional partners to inform future site content, technology and merchandising strategies to maximize impact to long term customer value. They are responsible for the content and customer experience to ensure it is conversion-focused to meet our business needs and growth goals. Will lead a team of 3 direct reports

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Develop homepage, category- and product-level storytelling content strategies to support new arrivals, promos, and  editorial changeouts on
  • Oversee process to ensure timely and seamless execution of key site assets like HP, Category Banners, landing pages, and product detail pages
  • Own strategic content and landing page development to support key initiatives and launches; ensure clean UX and capabilities alignment with design team
  • Create strong, collaborative partnerships with the creative, digital marketing, digital merch and copy teams to help bring digital content to life while ensuring brand-right and conversion-first strategies
  • Develop, review and share key site and conversion-based reporting to operate levers that drive sales and conversion
  • Own conversion-driving content across including homepage, category pages, product pages, landing pages, site search, SEO and checkout
  • Lead a team of online merchandisers to assort, manage and analyze all site products, content and collections to maximize performance
  • Responsible for the effective concept and creation of digital site content; focus on providing the customer with the information necessary to make a seamless and informed purchase decision
  • Develop and execute new digital strategies to improve conversion via sequencing, navigation, SEO, site search and product page enhancements
  • Develop and roll-out A/B testing strategies to help drive AOV, UPT, engagement and conversion across the site
  • Ensure design and marketing teams are developing content which leverages best practices including SEO, site speed optimizations, and UX design fundamentals
  • Recommend, execute and measure category and linking strategy for key digital marketing channels in coordination with email, brand and acquisition teams
  • Recommend and develop new site navigation, search and category strategies based on ongoing analytics findings
  • Gather and leverage feedback from customer service, Bazaar Voice, social media, store partners, and merchants on site issues and trouble shoot or push updates to positively impact CX as needed
  • Identify new vendors and roadmap needs to maximize business (mobile optimizations, pdp needs, cart update request, plug in strategies w/ vendors like RFK, Wunderkind & BV)
  • Drive site content and functionality to support promotional execution
  • Serve as key point of contact with shared services, IT/Dev partners to ensure timely changeouts and communications surrounding dates, timelines and requirements are handled appropriately for all promotional needs
  • Develop evolving strategies for better customer experience, communication and conversion
  • Develop and communicate to ensure brand, accuracy, and SEO standards are met
  • Work closely with merchant team to manage markdown, exit, and price changes


Required Skills:

  • Results-driven with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities
  • Demonstrated leadership skills building short/long term strategies and developing a team of digital marketers
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex data to a broad audience across multiple levels and businesses
  • Demonstrated ability analyzing data and building business strategies
  • Strong ability to be flexible and pivot quickly in response to business opportunities
  • Collaborative and influential with partners in all areas of the business
  • Technical aptitude with a “ready-to-learn” attitude
  • Proven CMS / Content Management System proficiency with a platform like ATG, SFCC, Shopify, or similar
  • Excellent written and oral skills. Able to translate complex data to a broad audience.
  • UX/CX or A/B testing optimization experience preferred
  • Content strategy and experience working with creative teams to execute new digital concepts



  • 8+ Years of digital marketing, digital content, or site management experience
  • 5+ years of management experience in a digital marketing / online merchandising role
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience using digital analytics tools such Adobe Omniture or Google Analytics



  • Requires a bachelor degree in a related field
