Stores (Application) Systems Analyst

Basic Function

Primary focus is to support the NCR Point of Sale solution in all DSW Stores (US and Canada).  This includes evaluation, testing, configuration, setup, and troubleshooting of the NCR POS application and the NCR Enterprise solution. 

 

  • Install and configures NCR application on Enterprise servers, store server, registers, and tablets.
  • Maintains gold images used in the configuration of the Store System devices with the latest software and hardware updates.
  • Evaluates and tests NCR Software Releases updates for compatibility with store computer systems.
  • Evaluates and tests new hardware for compatibility with NCR application.
  • Troubleshoots reported issues related to the NCR application on store devices and Enterprise servers.
  • Provides second level support for the helpdesk (averaging 10-15 new work order requests per week).
  • After hours on-call support, on a weekly rotational schedule.
  • Actions outstanding work orders in the Service Desk ticketing system and monitors through completion.
  • Monitors alerts in Microsoft System Center Operations Manager console.  Responds to alerts and corrects issues, based on trouble found
  • Trains new employees, store personnel (while onsite), contractors, temps, etc.
  • Stages, configures, and ships hardware required for new store openings.  Also provides support for onsite 3rd party installation teams.
  • Creates and maintains documentation for various processes such as, equipment setup and configuration, remote support and troubleshooting, and store configuration and layout to be used by Store Systems, the Service Desk, and contracted vendors for onsite repairs and installations.
  • Completes required ongoing training and certifications (ie. Dell).

 

 

Qualifications

  • Experience with NCR POS application and Enterprise solution preferred
  • B.S. Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of PC software and hardware, networking (wired & wireless) installation and troubleshooting experience
  • PC skills to include Operating systems, MS Office Suite, Networking, and troubleshooting.
  • Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (2012 and 2016)
  • Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (2012 and 2016)
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or newer
  • Scripting – Power Shell, C++, JavaScript
  • Experience with Mobile Device Management Solution
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work and manage tasks independently and unsupervised
