Job Title: Store Planner

Summary: The Store Planner is responsible for planning category level store sales and inventory targets to manage inventory capacity in store to maximize sales and profitability. This includes both preseason targets and in season forecasting at a category store level utilizing the merchandise plan to achieve financial targets and support company profitability.

Reports to: Manger, Store Planning. 

 

Must possess the ability to:

  • Develop strategic sales and inventory plans at a store level to support the objectives linked to the merchandise plan
  • Ensure optimal inventory levels by store to maximize sales and margin and to achieve targeted inventory capacity in store
  • Review and analyze store performance to make recommendations and influence Merchant and Planning teams
  • Develop and manage reporting to analyze performance, support recommendations, and  communicate cross functionally
  • Partner with cross-functional team (Allocation, Merchandise Planning, Assortment Planning and Merchandising) to ensure in store inventory targets are met
  • Develop ad-hoc analysis to influence both internal and field partners
  • Participate and be a leader in various monthly cross functional meeting; preparing reporting and analysis to support the meeting
  • Serve as an advocate and liaison between the field and buying organization
  • Communicate with multiple field partners by relaying company and merchandising strategies and how stores will be impacted
  • Research inventory and assortment concerns from field partners to determine appropriate actions
  • Participate in quarterly store/market visits along with field team; apply learnings and observations to business

     

 

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of forecasting, inventory management and/or retail planning experience
  • Strong analytical skills including data mining, organization, summary and presentation skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written & verbal with the ability to influence multiple levels within the organization
  • Self-motivated and proven ability to handle multiple projects and conflicting priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Data Warehouse/Business Objects and Enterprise Planning
  • Strong knowledge of retail math concepts and metrics
  • Knowledge of capacity and space planning a plus
  • B.S. degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain
