General Summary: The Sr. Financial Analyst of Strategic Testing and Analytics will be responsible for conducting financial analysis and completing ad-hoc projects to support the Test & Learn process at DSW while working in a cross-functional, team-based environment. Primary responsibilities include the design, implementation and analysis of testing performed in DSW stores, performing LP analytics to support the ongoing effort to reduce shrink and theft in store, and making recommendations to leadership based on detailed analyses.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the store testing process for the DSW Segment, leveraging the APT Test & Learn analytical tool
  • Design store tests to ensure the testing team will have the ability to confidently and accurately analyze testing results upon implementation
  • Ensure timely and accurate implementation of store testing by working with cross-functional areas; ensuring deadlines are met and execution is in accordance with the testing plan
  • Analyze results of testing, leveraging the APT Test & Learn tool to accurately explain the impact of a given test/initiative on store selling metrics, merchandise categories, regional/demographic distortions and any other meaningful metrics that are relevant to the test/initiative
  • Clearly communicate the results of testing to your cross-functional partners, while providing clear recommendations for future testing and/or action
  • Collaborate with partners to develop new testing ideas that support key business initiatives and optimization of business results
  • Serve as the in-house power user of the APT Test & Learn and Profitect tools and provide support to other areas the business
  • Other various ad-hoc analytical support to the business and support of the Finance Monday reporting process
  • Analytical support for the LP department: create/update weekly LP reporting dashboards and review LP exception reporting out of Profitect analytical tool to understand trends in stores that experience the highest rate of shrink and fraud
  • Communicate trends/risks noted in LP analyses to the LP department, Regional Managers and Store Operations while providing recommendations for action
  • Other LP department special projects as needed


Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Financial modeling skills are required
  • Strong collaboration skills to build solid, trusted relationships with analytics teams and business leadership
  • Presentation development and delivery
  • Experience in sales forecasting and analytics
  • Communication skills and teamwork skills are essential to success in this role



  • 3+ years of analytical experience, preferably in Retail


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with APT Test & Learn and/or Profitect software preferred
  • Experience with presenting to leadership



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Economics
