The Sr. Financial Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis position is critical for the operational success of the DSW Segment (stores & eCommerce). The person hired for this role will be responsible for supporting and consolidating the DSW Segment P&L by understanding top line sales drivers, assisting with expense management and validating opportunities and risks to the overall Op Income targets. This person will also be responsible for conducting financial analysis and completing ad-hoc projects to support decision-making while working in a cross-functional, team-based environment. This position will ensure consistent assumptions, clear communication and timely delivery of a cohesive, thorough, timely product. Collaboration with partners across multiple areas of the business to support improving Op Income is critical for success in this role. This position reports to Sr. Manager, FP&A and has no direct reports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • P&L Consolidation and Management – Develop a complete understanding of all P&L drivers that impact the overall Op Income results of the business and communicate to senior leadership weekly
  • Op Income Risk & Opportunities – Identify financial opportunities or risk, as well as communicate and influence through actionable insights
  • Ongoing Business Insights – Provide daily/weekly reporting and weekly business recap reporting to summarize and analyze business results
  • Partnerships – Develop effective and collaborative relationships with functional business partners, identifying key opportunities, as well as communicating and influencing actionable analysis

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Experience in forecasting and analysis

  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and capabilities
  • High initiative and self-direction
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to multi-task throughout the day

Qualifications

  • Lives DSW values of passion, accountability, collaboration and humility
  • Has at least 3 years’ experience in a financial planning & analysis, consulting, external accounting or strategic planning
  • Undergraduate majors preferred: Finance, Accounting, Management, Economics, Business
  • Experience in retail a plus
