Under the direction of the Director of Engineering, lead a wide variety of Distribution Center/Supply Chain projects targeted at improving and managing efficiency, implementing equipment & systems, developing and improving processes, and training associates.  Responsibilities include creating work plans, reviewing schedules, and overseeing deliverables for Industrial Engineers working on capital projects and DC operations support.  This position will also work closely with DC Operations and IT to ensure distribution needs are met and WMS/WCS functionality is optimized get the desired results.


Essential Functions:


  • Analyzes Distribution Center methods and operations, develops improvement plans, and recommends and/or implements changes
  • Engineering owner of the design, development, implementation, troubleshooting, training and ongoing maintenance of DC operational methods, procedures and training
  • Daily DC operations management support for all labor, methods and LMS related issues.
  • Oversee the design, develop, implement and maintain standard operating procedures and training methods for DC associates.
  • Investigate, identify, design, recommend and implement improvements to logistics, material handling and information systems to improve operating processes, service levels and efficiency within the DC and supply chain.
  • Responsible for assembling data defining current facility operational capacities for Retail and Ecom divisions
  • Responsible for data acquisition and analysis of company long range sales plan and correlation to existing facility operational capacities to create a holistic view of anticipated growth and existing infrastructure capacities
  • Perform other classic industrial engineering duties in support of operations or engineering projects.
  • R&D capabilities resulting in the investigation and application of new technologies
  • Maintain excellent communication and relationships with other departments and associates and be the lead in a high performance, results oriented team environment.
  • Performs analysis and develops return on investment justifications for capital expenditures.
  • Ensures DC facility-level compliance with key company standards of safety, facility maintenance, postings/notifications and other administrative duties as identified and/or as directed.
  • Conducts presentations and informational meetings for all levels of DC and home office population.
  • Acts as mentor and adviser to other engineers and provides training and development to peers as needed.
  • Lead and manage both internal, external resources and professional consultants
  • Travels as necessary to support other regional DC locations.



  • Labor standards development (manual & standard data)
  • Labor Management System usage & management
  • Project management experience from conceptual through implementation
  • Experience with WMS and WCS systems functions
  • Well developed analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Very highly organized
  • PC Skills, Microsoft Office, Project, AutoCAD, Access
  • Familiar with I.E.& financial techniques/principles



  • Minimum B.S. Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience required
  • WMS & LMS training



  • 6+ years I.E. experience, preferably in a Retail DC or Direct to Consumer environments
  • Labor Standards Development
  • WMS & LMS experience (Manhattan Associate’s preferred or equivalent)
  • Lead Engineer experience on large capital projects involving WMS and equipment changes
  • Warehouse Control System experience
