Senior Merchandise Solutions Analyst

The Senior Merchandise Solutions Analyst works within a team environment to actively assist in providing business analysis across MP&A and Merchandising, receiving direction and guidance from leadership.  The Analyst is involved in all stages of analysis and assessment to identifying potential drivers of future business results.  The Analyst provides data insights by analyzing product data and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure awareness of insights.


Reports to:  Senior Manager, Merchandise Solutions


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Work on assigned business initiatives/opportunities, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Data generation using various tools (Power Pivot, Power Query, SaS Size Profiling) to support business applications.
  • Data mining using various tools (MicroStrategy, SQL, etc..) to gather data to be analyzed and reported on.
  • Support data generation for Assortment Planning tools
  • Ability to respond to and answer executive questions.
  • Analyze, organize, and collate high volumes of data from various sources.
  • Identify required data sets based on the given requirements within the business question to be solved
  • Work in a team environment to actively assist in the analysis of focus areas while receiving direction and guidance from Senior Principal/Principal/Senior Analysts within Advanced Analytics Team

Minimum Qualifications


  • 3-5 years’ retail or relevant experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Inventory Management, P & L, and retail math concepts to aid in analysis


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in MicroStrategy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office:  MS Excel, PowerPivot, Power Query, and MS Access preferred
  • Experience in SQL, R, Python, RapidMiner, and SAS beneficial



  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Information Technology, or Business Analytics preferred
