General Summary

DSW is seeking an experienced, results-driven, and passionate SEO Content Lead to join the SEO team. The SEO Content Lead will be responsible for developing and executing our keyword strategy to grow the organic search rankings and traffic for DSW.com. This role will own identifying and executing opportunities in creating new content with key stakeholders, as well as optimize and maintain core SEO components for the pages that play a crucial role in our SEO strategy. Collaborating closely with key stakeholders across the organization, the SEO Content Lead will be an advocate in evangelizing innovation and best practices in cross-functional strategies.

 

Reports to:  Sr Mgr, SEO

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and manages execution of our SEO content strategy and editorial calendar for developing new content, creating pages, optimizing pages, redesigning pages and more
  • Seeks new opportunities for content creation and optimization, and partners with key stakeholders both internally and externally to drive a project from conception to execution
  • Identifies and executes on-page optimization opportunities including but not limited to title tags, meta descriptions, H1s, canonicals, and internal links
  • Manages our top landing pages to ensure freshness and optimal performance in meeting our KPIs
  • Oversees our local SEO strategy and works with key stakeholders both internally and externally to maintain the key components of GMB and Yext
  • Reviews, edits, and optimizes content for SEO with our partners in Creative and Digital
  • Evangelizes opportunities, best practices, and innovation across the organization with cross-functional partners in Digital, Marketing, Creative, Stores and more
  • Stays informed of competitive landscape, industry trends, algorithm updates and other external factors to remain innovative and agile in an ever-changing environment

 

Required Skills:

  • Ability to edit and optimize copy for SEO
  • Ability to concept and wireframe ideas is a plus
  • Copywriting not required but a plus
  • Experience with large enterprise-level websites made up of thousands or millions of URLs
  • Experience with tools such as Yext, Google Search Console, SEMRush, BrightEdge, Google Keyword Planner and more
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to see a project from start to finish
  • Self-starter with strong communication, attention to detail and collaboration skills to work effectively with key stakeholders

 

Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years of SEO and content marketing experience

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study
