The Principal Systems Analyst - Store Technology performs a wide range of daily operational tasks including application development, design and deployment of new store technology including customer experience initiatives. Additionally this senior technical role within the team provides mentoring, problem escalation and resolution, cross functional project technical leadership and custom application development.  This position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to fully understand the needs of the end user and translate those needs into documented software requirements, technical documentation and finally a delivered solution. This position reports to the Manager, Store Systems and has no direct reports.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership and execution to the store technology solution center.
  • Develop best practices for deployment and operations within the solution, while driving for efficiencies and automation where applicable
  • Drive continuous improvement development in consumable work products
  • Leverage modern tech stack for development opportunities in fixed and mobile customer engagement models
  • Enable customer experiences within DSW through store technology
  • Participate in L3 support to ensure service levels for store associates and customer base
  • Engineer and deploy new hardware and software systems with ease of use and mobility as overachring tenets

     

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in retail information technology with a heavy bias towards store technology (associate and customer facing)
  • Focused experience developing, implementing, and operating large-scale point of sale systems, message queuing functionality, mobility and payment offerings.
  • Experience in Retail highly preferred
  • Experience in Web Development; IIS, ASP, ASP.NET, (VB.NET and C#), Active Directory, Message Queuing, Node
  • Must understand software distribution methodologies and practices
  • Must have experience completing and fully embrace the benefits of thorough technical documentation and software development standards
  • Must be a team player who is self motivated and looking for an excellent growth opportunity
