GENERAL SUMMARY:        Responsible for the enterprise resource planning and distribution systems development team and direct oversight and modification of the system applications.  Team is responsible for formulating and defining systems’ scope and objectives to meet newly defined requirements as well as the remedy of system defects.  Responsible for the software development of feature enhancements and resolution of defects.  Responsible for the day to day management of the software system applications including WMS and Allocation.  Requires an in depth understanding of applicable supply chain systems and business functions.  This position manages business analysis, system analysis, and development personnel and together is responsible for delivering reliable, sustainable solutions.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Manages the ERP and distribution systems team to deliver both project work and operational support
  • Employs best practices for each phase of the SDLC to deliver high quality deliverables to Production
  • Provides coaching, direction and feedback to direct staff.  Identifies and hires talent and outlines career growth plans to build a culture of continuous learning and development
  • Oversees overall technical solution and implementation and ensures system development and configurations support the defined business process
  • Acts as the liaison with third party vendors to appropriately leverage technical assistance
  • Provides input for the feasibility of proposed projects
  • Actively manages and participates in business process re-engineering
  • Partners with technical Project Manager to help define and maintain project and resource plans
  • Manages the partnership  with business users to identify new system and\or improvements to existing systems that support strategic business objectives
  • Ensures team works with business partners to define detailed functional and technical specifications
  • Manages the partnership with cross functional IT teams to develop detailed roadmaps and timelines that support IT strategic objectives
  • Manages the partnership with cross functional IT and business teams to ensure successful delivery of user-facing applications
  • Ensures appropriate change management disciplines are followed

 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES: 

  • Strong leadership skills and abilities to support and effectively motivate direct reports
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical/quantitative skills
  • Excellent listening, communication and presentation skills; ability to interact with team members and cross functional partners at all levels
  • Must have a detailed understanding of the full lifecycle of application development: Initiation, requirements, design, build, test, implementation, and maintenance
  • Experience with systems leveraging the following technologies: SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle, Java, XML, Web Services, Windows, UNIX, MS Office, Visio, MS Project
  • Comprehensive understanding of retail distribution strategies along with a strong background working with retail warehouse management systems is preferred
  • Knowledge of distributed order management and allocation systems a plus
  • Proven ability to understand user workflows and convert to technical system specifications
  • Proven experience implementing packaged application software
  • Must have a friendly, approachable personality including excellent business presence.  Must be able to work cooperatively with the business users when they experience technical issues
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Proven ability define detailed functional and technical requirements
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively, strong time management skills, ownership and initiative

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:    B.S. Computer Science, Logistics or related discipline

 

EXPERIENCE

  • Over five years of related Supply Chain Systems experience
  • Previous Management or Lead experience required
  • Warehouse Management system experience is mandatory
  • Experience in Retail industry is highly desired
