The Manager, Vendor Finance manages, influences, and implements Vendor Finance initiatives that streamline efficiencies and improve operational controls.  This individual will be required to challenge and develop staff through stretch goals and objectives, projects, initiatives, and interaction with key stakeholders. Oversee and manage day to day operations and month-end, quarter-end, year-end close responsibilities.  Evaluate new methods or procedures to improve close procedures and daily operations. Develop strategic business relationships with IT, Supply Chain, Inventory Control, Merchandising, DC, and FC to improve cross-functional processes that affect Vendor Finance (Systematic and Operational.) Report to Director of Accounting Operations.  Responsible for 7 direct reports. Must possess the ability to:


  • Demonstrate high level of systems knowledge.  This individual will be required to understand information from multiple systems (Jesta, Lawson, general-ledger, WM, TMS, Business Objects, .com systems, etc.) and will possess the analytical skills to match data between systems.
  • Must have an in-depth understanding of retail math and accounting principles concerning Vendor Finance and Inventory / Stock Ledger. 
  • Understand, review, and approve reconciliations of payables and inventory receipt activities that flow through the general ledger
  • Required to stimulate change within Vendor Finance, across the business, and with external customers focusing on system enhancements, electronic solutions, mobile supply chain, vendor anticipation, and enhanced KPIs
  • Required to present management recommendations based on analytical data to key stakeholders throughout the business (i.e., purchase order load analysis, vendor match rate analysis, and vendor charge back analysis)
  • 5+ years’ experience in Accounting / Finance
  • High degree of Accounting & Financial Analysis skills
  • Must be highly proficient in Excel, Access and  PowerPoint
  • Ability to drive, both internal business partners and external customers, to solutions on operational and project based issues.
  • Present excellent leadership, communication, organization, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to interact and drive change across multiple areas, as well as, multi-task several projects and initiatives in a changing environment
  • Ability to identify inefficiencies, recommend, and implement solutions to improve operations
  • Able to analyze business trends and KPIs to improve operational efficiencies.
  • Knowledge of Jesta, Essentus, Business Objects, Chrome River, Lawson & Hyperion is a plus
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance; MBA or CPA is a plus
