Job title: Distribution Center Team Lead

General Summary: DC team leader is focused on coordinating activities with associates to facilitate the movement of tasks and goods though a defined set of processes designed to meet organizational service expectations. 

Reports to: Area Manager

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Leads, motivates and directs up to 25 associates
  • Responsible for  the coordination of tactical activities with hourly associates (receiving, picking, packing, shipping)
  • Engage partner departments and associates in problem resolution process to assure service outcomes are meeting expectations
  • Identify, resolve and communicate exceptions with Distros and waves to operational partners
  • Functional subject matter expert for outbound WM, WCS and Beumer
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment
  • Promote safety at all times and report safety violations to Area Manager
  • Monitor and communicate issues with safety, security, building control to Area Manager
  • Cross train and effectively be able to operate in other departments and responsibilities  based on business requirements along with other duties as assigned

 

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to support workload requirements

     

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

Experience:

  • 2-3 years’ experience in a leadership role; preferably in a DC environment
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with WMS (Manhattan preferred) and WCS software
  • Expert understanding of RF processes with strong ability to train new and existing associates
  • Advanced PC skills; including Excel, Word, Access and Outlook

 

 

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
