Job title: Digital Product Retoucher

General Summary: The Digital Product Retoucher will be responsible for retouching, editing, and curating a compelling collection of digital photography and imagery that engages customers and elevates the brand. This is done through color correction, removal of styling tools, warping, and sizing images to standard silhouettes.  Work with the digital photography team to ensure the product is best represented while adhering to established style guide standards. 

Sales/Merchandise Volume Responsibility: Baseline is 115 images/daily

Reports to Supervisor, Digital Assets


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Retouch vendor provided and in-house product imagery.
  • Work includes cropping, masking, color correction, removal of styling tool, shadow creation and/or clean up.
  • Retouch across all product categories and be able to switch gears as needed while ensuring the quality of all retouched images meet company standards.
  • Ensures tight deadlines are met by partnering with Senior Retouchers for daily direction.
  • Retouch a high volume of images with varying degrees of difficulty.
  • Maintains proper file naming and image protocol for upload and archiving while working in the digital asset management system.
  • Contribute and maintain photography and retouching guidelines in training materials. 
  • Ability to flex into a digital product photography role, depending on workload.
  • Ability to flex into vendor information processing role, depending on workload.
  • Collaborate with and provide direction to digital product photography team.
  • Maintains awareness of trends and is able to articulate impact of those trends on product imagery.
  • Assist in managing vendor retouching team; outsourcing jobs, quality checks, reporting, etc.


Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Experience in a high-volume commercial studio preferred, especially in retail environment.
  • Proficient retouching skills and knowledge of color correction in the RGB color space.
  • Ability to retouch to specific requirements while hitting daily baseline output.
  • Familiarity with Canon cameras, Profoto lighting equipment, Lightroom, and Adobe Creative Suite a plus.
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Team player that is also comfortable working independently.
  • Must be organized and process oriented. 
  • Ability to multi-task effectively, work under pressure, in a fast-paced and growing team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are needed when working with cross-functional partners.
  • Experience working with Adobe AEM (digital asset management) is a plus.

  • Bachelor’s Degree of equivalent experience in: Photography, Digital Design, or Retouching

Physical Demands:

  • Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to be on their feet 8+ hours a day if needed.

Minimum Qualifications


  • 2+ years in a related retouching position. Retail experience a plus.


  • Bachelor’s degree: Photography, Design, Merchandising or related field
