General Summary: The DC Supervisor is responsible for leading productive/non-productive roles. This role is responsible for day-to-day work flow planning, meeting SLA standards, coaching and developing a team of approx. 15 associates, working cross functionally within the DC, and communicating effectively with leadership.

 

Reports to: Operations Manager

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a team with direct responsibility for operational activities in an automated, case, and unit driven 625,000 sq ft warehouse.
  • Responsibility within limited activities within (receiving, picking, packing, shipping)
  • Demonstrates and set expectations in line with Designer Brands leadership competencies including Passion, Accountability, Collaboration, and Humility.
  • Manages safety, security, inventory, productivity, and cost/service metrics through KPI’s and reporting.
  • Manages WMS interaction including transactional activities as well as exceptions management, planning and distribution flow through the facility.
  • Develops and implements processes and procedures that meet organizational requirements.
  • Supports cross functional communication between internal and external partners to drive innovative solutions.
  • Working knowledge of all systems and material handling automation through collaboration with IT, Maintenance, & Engineering resources.
  • Makes tough and timely decisions.
  • Provides timely associate administrative controls, feedback, and hold teams accountable.
  • Deliver Monthly performance reviews, coaching and development to members of the team
  • Strong leadership and floor presence while remaining team focused.

 

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Systems and informational management skills are at the moderate to expert level
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Effective Verbal and written communication skills
  • Multi-tasking skills
  • Knowledge of Business Concepts
  • Knowledge of Supervisory and leadership skills

 

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 0-3 years of experience supervising production personnel, preferably in a Distribution Center environment

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with Manhattan Associates Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Labor Management Systems (LMS) are preferred 

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, preferred
