DC Clerk II- 1st Shift
Job title: DC Clerk II
General Summary: Distribution Clerk II coordinates the work flow of product to be received. Responsibilities include checking, calculating and verifying incoming freight for accuracy. Handles any errors and communicates these problems/concerns to the Lead and/or Area Manager. Checks specified percentage of merchandise to verity contents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reconciles variances on a Purchase Orders (PO), shipment or outbound load
- Initiate inbound/outbound shipments for receipt, maintains documentation and records, monitors and verifies completion of inbound/outbound shipments, and tracks and logs arriving Purchase Orders.
- Monitors compliance issues and coordinates with inventory control for resolution
- Coordinates with solids and ticketing operations to complete processing and receipt of solids and special handling items
- Resolves issues with purchase orders with Buyers, Allocation & Accounting
- Coordinates the work flow of product to be received directly with floor associates and through team leaders
- Researches and communicates exceptions and issues to resolution
- Log, track, key data and run reports using the PC / Access Database / WMS systems
- Serve as a liaison between departments and internal/external vendors
- Coordinates traffic activities and trailer positioning with transportation and DC operations
- Fax, file and copy
- Verifies contents and quantity of merchandise in individual cartons with Purchase Order
- Scans and enters case counts, styles and SKU’s into the database
- Affixes labels to cartons or pallets
- Calculates numbers of cartons/freight to verify integrity of shipment
- Verifies a percentage of individual cartons to ensure contents match with the bill of lading
- Verifies ticket accuracy for pre-ticketed merchandise
- Stacks freight by style, vendor, SKU and other methods as directed
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment
- Promote safety at all times and report safety violations to Area Manager
- Communicates problems/concerns to the Lead and/or Area Manager
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills and must be detailed oriented
- Advanced PC skills; including Excel, Word and Outlook
- Strong phone, data entry and organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Must be able to work independently and with little direction
