The Associate Network Engineer provides network engineering and technical support for LAN, WAN, Voice, and RF infrastructure.  Configures, troubleshoots, and maintains company network equipment across multiple brands.  Ensures that industry best practices are applied with regard to the use of technology, procedures, and methodology.  This position reports to the Manager, Network Operations and has no direct reports.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Achieves assigned goals and objectives.
  • Implements, and operates secure and manageable switched and routed networks.  This includes all private, public, and business-partner network infrastructure and monitoring of same.  Implements according to schedule in a timely fashion, and operates/monitors systems and processes on a daily basis.  This is accomplished according to industry-standard best practices.
  • Responds to and provides support for trouble tickets/issues from users and/or monitoring systems.  Responds in a timely fashion, retaining ownership of issues until resolved.
  • Performs routine analysis of and reporting on system performance, and recommends improvements to manager as appropriate.
  • Documents and updates all network infrastructure and supported business processes.
  • Documents and maintains inventory of network equipment and services.
  • Ensures that all network, equipment configurations and supporting applications are backed up and tested on a regular basis.
  • Ensures that appropriate security considerations and industry-standard best practices are applied to all aspects of the network environment.
  • Ensures that all assigned activities are conducted in accordance with all applicable Company policies and procedures.




  • Experience with implementing, and operating secure and manageable switched and routed networks is preferred.
  • Experience with switching technologies, such as VLANs, trunking, inter-VLAN routing, and fault isolation is preferred.
  • Experience with enterprise routing technologies, including static and dynamic routing, routing protocols is preferred.
  • Experience with WAN or VPN technology, including remote user access, branch office connectivity, monitoring, and fault isolation is preferred.
  • Experience with packet capture hardware/software (Meraki, Wireshark) to support fault isolation preferred.
  • Experience with network management software is preferred (PRTG, Kiwi CatTools ).
  • Experience with structured cabling is required (both fiber and copper).
  • Experience using network diagrams during fault isolation (Visio experience a plus).
  • Experience using Windows or macOS required
  • Experience with Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto, F5, Pulse Secure, and Citrix a plus
  • Experience with Shared Services a plus
  • Experience with scripting a plus (API, TCL, Pearl, Python, etc.)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Network certifications helpful (CCNA, CMNO, NETWORK+, other)
