General Summary: A DC Processor is an important part of the supply chain team, assisting with the flow of product at various times during the distribution process.  The Processor is responsible for the accurate, efficient, and safe handling of merchandise during receiving, order processing, and/or shipping. Routine duties performed by the DC Processor are done so with the assistance of technology through HighJump, the NJDC warehouse management system (WMS).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Empty, fill, sort, and organize product according to operating procedures and requirements
  • Perform one or more functions within the order fulfillment process within HighJump, including but not limited to:
    • Receiving Scanning and Pallet Build
    • Returns Processing
    • Classic Order Processing
    • VoCollect Order Picking
    • Putwall Packing
    • Singles E-Commerce Order Packing
    • Dynamic Clean-up
    • Residual Putaway
  • Maintains inventory controls and accuracy by systemically and/or physically receiving and/or locating product within the distribution center
  • Inspect, classify, and/or report product defects and damages to the appropriate associate to ensure inventory accuracy and quality
  • Cross-train to perform one or more functions within multiple departments
  • Lift and stack cartons onto pallets and conveyors using proper lifting and operating procedures
  • Build pallets, as shown on monitor if available, by matching carton UPCs so factory labels are facing outwards
  • Assemble full cartons by identifying and grouping product according to like UPCs
  • Separate freight by vendor name, purchase order, SKU, router, or destination
  • Safely utilize manually operated equipment (i.e. pallet jack, rolling conveyor, pick cart, totes, or hand truck) to transport cartons or other items by means of pushing, pulling, lifting, or carrying
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to support workload requirements
  • Responsible for the proper handling and safe use of all Company owned property, tools, and equipment, including PPE, power equipment, voice equipment, etc.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment
  • Conducts duties in compliance with OSHA safety standards and location specific policies, paying special attention to pedestrian/equipment traffic.
  • Promote safety at all times and report safety violations to the appropriate DC Lead, Supervisor, and/or Area Manager.
  • Communicates problems/concerns to the appropriate DC Lead, Supervisor, and/or Area Manager.
  • Other duties as instructed by leadership, including various duties performed within DC Material Handler and/or DC Processor roles, which the associate is trained and skilled to perform
  • Crosstrain to assist within other departments based on the needs of the department, facility, and Company

 

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent hand and eye coordination skills
  • Ability to read and recognize applicable numbers and directives, including safety rules, operating instructions, racking locations, and procedural documents
  • Must understand basic math skills to ensure inventory and order processing accuracy
  • Ability to perform duties independently, and as part of a team, with minimal supervision or guidance
  • Frequent bending, lifting, walking, pushing, pulling of freight, standing for long periods of time and sometimes working in extreme temperatures

 

Experience:

  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with computer or barcode driven inventory management systems
  • Prior knowledge of warehouse management system (WMS) functions
  • Knowledgeable and skilled with using a RF scanner
  • Prior use of VoCollect voice device
     

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
