General Summary:
Distribution Associates load and unload material within a warehouse or storage facility. They utilize hand trucks, forklifts, conveyors, and other handling equipment to move material to and from trucks within the storage facility. They are responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual or automated task necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of products. This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, and delivery. They are responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of product receipt from vendors, to the shipment of products to a variety of internal and external customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ability to meet or exceed company production quotas while still maintaining quality of work
• Picking a large number of orders per day using the company picking process
• Using scanners when instructed to pick orders
• Locate shoes that are not in their correct location by checking overflow and other areas
• Keep warehouse bins and work areas clean and organized
• Fill in for other warehouse positions as needed
• Ability to understand the complete cycle of inventory flow process to perform job effectively
• Willingness to seek out resources, improve process, and create efficiencies in the job
• Available to work mandatory overtime hours when needed
• Making sure final product shipped with Shoe Metro’s quality standards
• Shoe boxes must be clean and dust free. If boxes are in bad condition, they need to be removed and/or replaced. Shoes inside must be laid correctly with adequate tissue.
• Shipping flyer and invoice is laid on top of the shoe box, label and tape is neatly applied.
• Put-a-ways – putting away shoes that are completed with the listings or returns procedure
• Any other duties that is asked of you beyond the scope of your regular duties to help the company. Receives incoming shipments of merchandise in accordance with company standard receiving practices.
• Verifies receipts against delivery manifest and/or purchase order
• Operates computer terminals in the receiving and/or shipping system
• Stocks merchandise in proper locations
• May require operation of various types of manual and powered hand trucks to move merchandise
• Fills customer orders. Works from computer-generated picking documents to select merchandise ordered
• Packs a variety of products in standard containers according to prescribed practices

Required Skills and Competencies:
• Ability to understand the complete cycle of Shoe Metro inventory flow process
• Able to read and speak English

Physical Demands:
• Ability to consistently lift over 40 lbs. and pull pallets of shoes

Minimum Qualifications

Experience:
• One to two year of experience in a warehouse or distribution center

Education:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
